Once the number of students enrolling in an Idaho Charter School is more than the number of available seats, new students enter into a lottery to get into the school.
This year's deadline to submit a completed application is June 16, 2023. The lottery will be held in the CTEA office on June 23, 2023 at 1:00 pm. The lottery will determine the school's 2023-2024 waiting lists.
Lottery Process: The Idaho Legislature established the lottery process for charter school admission through Idaho Code 33-5206(11). As a brief overview, all applicants are placed into grade-level-specific 'Lottery Priority Groups' as follows and are drawn in order based on the below groupings. Current students will automatically be re-enrolled through a verification process.
Offers for Enrollment: All students that secure placement during the lottery will receive a telephone call, email and/or letter from CTEA providing an 'Offer for Enrollment'. Offers of enrollment must be accepted within the date provided in the email and/or letter. If no response is received within the specified time frame, the student's name will be moved to the bottom of the enrollment or waiting list.
Waiting List: Students not selected for placement will be placed on a waiting list by grade. The waiting lists will be posted on our school website within 3 weeks after the lottery date. Students will be contacted if a space becomes available.
How to Apply: Those interested are invited to sign up their children for Chief Tahgee Elementary Academy's annual lottery by completing and submitting the lottery admission application. Please call (208) 237-2710 or email
Natalie Blackhawk at the CTEA Office for information. If no one answers, please leave a message.
When to Apply: CTEA begins accepting lottery applications for the next academic school year on January 1st of each year. The application window closes the third (3rd) Friday of June each year at 4:30 pm. Lottery Applications received after the deadline will be placed at the bottom of the waiting list in the order it is received.
When is the Lottery: The CTEA Lottery draw takes place annually in the school office on fourth (4th) Friday of June each year at 1:00 pm. The CTEA Lottery is open to the public.
Lottery Draw Results: All Lottery Draw Results can be obtained through the CTEA office and are available the Monday following the annual Lottery Draw at 1:00 pm. Please call or email
Natalie Blackhawk at the CTEA Office for information.
